Quad biking in Moorea - the experience
Moorea's interior is spectacular - dense tropical vegetation, dramatic mountain ridges, rivers cutting through the valleys, and pineapple fields stretching up the hillsides. From the road, you see very little of this. On a quad, you are in the middle of it.
Most tours follow a similar route: a safety briefing at the base, then out through the pineapple fields to the Belvedere Lookout - one of the most photographed spots on the island, with a panoramic view over both bays and Mount Rotui between them. From there, you continue up to Magic Mountain, a higher viewpoint that opens up the entire northern coast. The longer tours add stops at local farms and tastings of homemade jam and fresh fruit. The whole experience is guided, with small groups and a pace that accommodates all levels.
If you want full control of the machine, go solo. Tandem is ideal if one person in your group is less confident driving - the passenger seat gives a great view without the pressure of steering. Both options are available at all four operators and the price is the same per quad regardless of how many riders.

They are the nicest group of people we have met. They went above my expectations. With a long quad ride all over, stopped for smoothies and local jams and fruits. Then we finished with a complimentary cup of rum and juice.

Best suited for travellers with a tight schedule, those combining multiple activities in the same day, or anyone who wants a taste of the quad experience without committing to a full half-day. Practical tips for your quad tour in Moorea
Book in advance
Quad tours are popular year-round and fill up fast in high season (July--October) and around Christmas/New Year. Book as soon as your dates are confirmed - all operators offer free cancellation via Viator, so there is no risk in booking early.
What to wear
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory - sandals and flip-flops are not permitted on a quad. Light trousers or leggings are more comfortable than shorts on longer rides. Helmets and raincoats are provided by all operators.
Do I need driving experience?
